Vote by Massachusetts Senator sets internet ablaze

Less than a month after the internet helped propel Scott Brown to the Senate seat formerly held by Ted Kennedy, the web was abuzz again about the Republican Senator's first vote.

This time, though, Brown's announcement that he would join four other Republicans in voting to block a GOP filibuster on a $15-billion jobs bill received less than glowing support from the blogosphere.

In fact, Brown's Facebook page has been filled by those that voted for him, threatening that he will be a “one term senator,” and saying that the move is “very disappointing.”

While another “fan” was rethinking his vote. “If this is the way you are going to be then I'm sorry I donated money to your campaign fund,” he said.

Even political blogger Michelle Malkin, weighed in on the jobs bill vote by Brown.

“My next question is for Sen. Brown: You vowed to end business-as-usual in Washington,” she wrote. “How is this change, Sen. Brown?”

A social media poll by WordStream prior to the special election showed that Brown outdistanced his competitor Martha Coakley by as much as 10 to 1 in some aspects of the web such as site traffic and Facebook fans during the campaign.
